In fact, you can quest all of the way from levels 1-50 if you do not miss any quests and do a few dungeons along the way. The only place you run out of quests is in the mid-level 30s, but if you participate in the Rift invasions and other events which happen from time to time, you will find that you will not run out of quests even in this area.
Another thing you will want to do is do dungeons every time you have the chance. Dungeons are great sources of experience points especially if you have a good groups. These instances are much faster in fact than leveling up from questing. The first players on my server all hit level 50 via doing dungeons, so it is definitely something to consider. The quests from dungeons also give out some good rewards and pay out a lot of experience. Just make sure you do not do dungeons with a bad group because they will take so much time getting started that it is not worth the effort.
The final tip is to participate in PvP. PvP in Rift actually gives players quite a bit of experience points, and another thing that is important about this is that you can get a daily quest each day. The daily quest gives you so much experience to turn in, as well as a lot of favor points and reputation points which you can then use to buy new equipment. Winning a match in PvP alone provides out quite a bit of experience points, so when you factor that in with the experience points you get from the daily quest, it really does add up.
